As someone who was born on a New Moon, on a Monday (Moon’s day) with the Moon and Sun in the sign of Cancer (which is ruled by the moon), I’m what you might call “Moony”.

If nothing else, being born into all that Moon energy, I’m aware of how turbulent the Moon’s energy can feel. Over many years, I've learned how to work with the Moon, which represents emotions, our inner world including what we hide in our shadow, intuition, empathy, nurturing, and self-care.

Did you know the moon changes signs, on average, every 2.5 days and visits each of the 12 zodiac signs every 28 days? It’s true. On Monday it might be in hard working Capricorn, and you find yourself unusually focused and ever determined to reach your goals. But by Friday - you know, when you have that important deadline - it’s in dreamy, mystical Pisces and all you feel is compelled to check into fantasy land. And what’s wrong with that, anyway? You worked really hard on Monday!

On top of that, the moon is always changing it’s phase. From new moon to waxing, to full moon, to waning, and back to new again. It provides us with new insights, projects, or ideas (New Moon); challenges to overcome - just to be sure it’s something we really want - and “crises” to test our faith (First and Last Quarter Moon); and an opportunity to step back, celebrate milestones, re-evaluate where we’re headed, and release what doesn’t serve our higher purpose to get back on track (Full Moon).

Between all the moon’s phases and the signs it’s in, the moon carries a lot of energies with it. The energies of the moon are ever changeable, mysterious, and just a lot sometimes! But it’s just trying to tell you a story. A story about how to build your future in the best way possible for you.

How nice is that? The Moon is really just the best friend and cheerleader you never knew you had! But her communication style is a bit mysterious…
